In getting at my own philosophy, in 2011 I decided to begin interviewing women friends about their beliefs. Perhaps seeing through their eyes would help me with my own interpretations. The most important thing I learned was whether you get there through the Bible, the Buddha or Madalyn Murray O’Hair, knowing what you believe is important. I wrote a book called Friending God to document the experience, which was published in 2013. That was the beginning of my spiritual growing.
